Speakers, Sponsors, and More: What To Expect at Roseville 2018
Tell us about the event.
It’s an all-day, conference style event held at the newly renovated Placer County Fairgrounds. They’ve dubbed it with a new name, @The Grounds. They’ve infused millions of dollars into the facility to bring it up to date. As part of the event they’ll be unveiling some of the future plans for the venue! It runs from 8:30 to 3:30.
What can we expect day-of?
We’ll have free coffee from Four Score Coffee to start the day! The shop is owned by a young business owner. He built it from the ground up and the cafe has an awesome vibe.
We’ll have breakout programming form 8:30 to 11:30. There will be three 30 minute sessions. You’ll be able to take 2-3 nuggets out of each session to take home and implement in your business the next day. You’ll be hearing from Laura Matteoli from the City of Roseville. You’ll also be hearing from Stephanie Ringey of Westfield Galleria. She’s going to talk about how the Galleria is combatting this Amazon culture and what their next steps are. We also have Eric Ullrich from Hacker Lab coming. Hacker Lab is an awesome resource for young entrepreneurs and startups!
While those are happening we’ll also have our Trends Show. That’s 80+ booths of different businesses, from large mega-businesses to small mom-and-pop startups. We have a lot of government agencies that show up as well. You’ll be able to learn more about what’s happening in our region. There’s always fun shwag, too! (Vance is the proud owner of a thumb drive that doubles as a bottle opener.)
There’s a lot of business that gets done. It’s a great place to meet new clients. Bring your business cards and come ready to chat!
What’s the panel discussion?
Lunch starts at 11:30, and Randy Peters is catering it once again. The menu is inspired by California Fresh and the farm-to-fork movement in the Sacramento region!
The luncheon is really the signature piece of this event. You’ll hear a lot of updates from the city of Roseville. Mayor Rohan and the City Manager will be sharing a few things with the audience, including some news that hasn’t broken yet.
After that we’ll launch into the panel discussion. The topic is “The Future Is Here: Technology, Culture, and the Human Factor.” Technology is changing the way we do everything. Communication has completely changed from what it was 10 years ago, and that impacts all business sectors. It’s changing retail, health care, hospitality, and more. We also got an expert from the technology sector to shed light on the subject. Kevin Krejci of Fujitsu will be talking about new technologies that have yet to hit market. All of this will be emceed by Kat Maudru! She’s a radio personality on stations like 96.9 and 106.5!
Tell us about the Sips-N-Sweets Reception!
After lunch we have the Sips ‘n Sweets reception. It’s hosted by Westfield Galleria. They’ve got amazing breweries, wineries, desserts like Randy Peters Cookies and Nothing Bundt Cakes that will be featured. Monks’ Cellar will be pouring beer! We’ll have a DJ and there will be music. @The Grounds has a great patio with lights overhead and a shade tree where we’ll hang out to cap the day off.
It’s a great way to wrap up your day, enjoy a beverage, and finish up those last conversations.
Are you excited? We sure are! We’ll see you at tomorrow!
